The demonstration of the metrological traceability of the results of the measurements made with the standard measuring instruments in the calibration laboratories is one of the fundamental requirements of the technical competence, established in the international standard NC-ISO / IEC 17025: 2017. This condition must be adequately managed by laboratories, based on the requirements of the current and desired state of the economic and social development of the country, and taking into account both the selection of the standard measuring instruments needed, as well as the calibration service providers that will guarantee the uninterrupted chain of calibrations up to the primary standards of the units of measurement.
Using the information provided by the territorial laboratories of the National Metrology Service (SENAMET), it presents the results of the analysis of the current state of the metrological traceability of the standards of the different dimensional quantities in the country, and the way in which from the Dimensional Measurements Laboratory of the National Research Institute on Metrology guarantees the metrological traceability of the rest of the country's secondary laboratories. It also presents the evolution that the traceability chain should experience depending on the development priorities of the national industry, planned for the period until 2021.
